DNA sequencing tools
- Displays and edits raw traces from automated sequencers, clean editor that allows assembly and editing of contigs and detection of splice variants, SNPs and regions of poor sequence quality. Commercial software from GeneCodes.
- CodonCode Aligner
Similar product to Sequencher, but I haven't used it yet.
- This is the industrial-strength tool to manage sequence assembly by major sequencing centers. Much less user friendly than Sequencher, but well suited to major operations. A MacOS X version is now distrubted by Geospiza. A MacOS Classic version also appears to be available from CodonCode.
- Finch TV (TraceViewer)
Nifty free viewer of traces from automated sequencers, from the folks at Geospiza, whose also make the commercial Finch package for sequencing centers.
